If you are looking for a position to expand your skillset in an OB/GYN clinic practice and patient education then consider this a position for you! Our LPN II supports our clinicians by performing various patient care activities and services including preparing equipment, assisting during examinations and treatments, providing triage, medical advice, patient education, and referral services. In this role you may also have the opprotunity to assist with surgery scheduling and teaching initial OB prenatal classes.


  • Answers telephone calls, effectively identifies and prioritizes problems, assesses acuity levels.
  • Makes triage judgments, schedules appointments, faxes and phones in prescriptions and completes necessary paperwork
  • Returns all patient telephone calls during the same day.
  • Provides emotional and psychological support to patients and/or their guests.
  • Follows guidelines and protocols and consults with clinicians when necessary.
  • Counsels and educates patients over the telephone in OB/GYN issues including preterm labor, labs, diet, exercise, medication, menstrual cycle, breast exam, hormones, perimenopause and menopause. 
  • Escorts patients to exam room.  Performs initial assessment of patient's vital signs including temperature, pulse, blood pressure and weight/height as appropriate for visit.
  • Performs the duties of LPN, Patient Education & Patient Care Coordinator, advice (up to scope of licensure), IV Therapy Clinic, and Lab Assistant as outlined in the relevant job description. May also provide assistance in other clinical services duties.
  • Updates and maintains clinicians' daily office schedule.
  • Answers telephone calls, takes accurate detailed messages, schedules appointments, phones in prescriptions and completes necessary paperwork.
  • Schedules and completes the appropriate forms for laboratory tests, x-rays, special tests and procedures. 
  • Carries out clinician orders accurately.
  • Assists patients to schedule appointments with specialists as necessary.
  • Enters information from patient's medical history form into patient's electronic chart.  As needed, preloads information from paper chart or outside medical records into the patient's electronic chart prior to appointment. Prepares patient information for clinician review prior to appointment.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the health care team in coordination of the patient's care.
  • Audits coding after patient encounter completed to verify services rendered are documented in patient's electronic record appropriately.
  • Assists clinician in diagnostic and surgical procedures and exams. May perform procedures as needed.  Prepares patients for procedures as needed.
  • Maintains a clean working environment.  Replaces soiled linens with clean linens.  Restocks and cleans examination rooms and rest rooms.  Maintains equipment and instruments used for diagnostic procedures.
  • Adheres to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Washes and sterilizes instruments.


  • Graduate of an accredited licensed practical nursing program.
  • Valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Oregon required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Knowledge of medical charting processes and procedures required.  Prior experience with or the ability to learn electronic medical records software required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively work with others.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding.
  • Knowledge of contraceptives, hormones and medications compatible with pregnancy.
  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment modalities required.
  • Prefer at least 2 years of experience in an OB/GYN office, or inpatient OB/GYN setting.
  • Knowledgeable in phlebotomy techniques and administering injections preferred.
  • Must be able to work some evenings and Saturdays (depending on the clinical site and business needs).
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
