The Lab Assistant Float will be responsible for drawing blood samples and performing venipuncture from our patients using proper skills/techniques to obtain samples with minimal discomfort to the patient. This position provides coverage at all of our WHA clinics. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys variety and is willing to commute to numerous clinics throughout the Portland metro area.

*This is a Monday-Friday, 40 hour/week position floating 2 days at our Oregon City clinic, 2 days at our Tualatin clinic, and 1 day where needed.


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification from an accredited medical assisting or phlebotomy program preferred, or the equivalent combination of classroom training and/or work experience.
  • Knowledge of medical laboratory procedures required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Working knowledge of basic specimen collection, selection, handling and storage activities.
  • Prior experience as a Lab Assistant preferred.
