Our Perinatal RN works as part of a team with the Maternal Fetal Medicine providers, ultrasonographers and genetic counselors to provide the highest quality obstetrical care for high risk obstetric patients.  

 *This is a 40 hour/week position, working 4-10 hours shifts at our Northwest Perinatal office in West Portland.  


  • Performs initial assessment of patient's vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, weight, fetal heart tones, mentation, collects urine and blood samples; follows up patient's visit providing appropriate education and plan of care.  
  • Prepares patient for procedures and assist provider with diagnostic and surgical exams.  
  • Updates and maintains clinicians' daily office schedule.
  • Answers telephone calls, makes triage judgements, schedules appointments, phones in prescriptions and completes necessary paperwork.
  • Schedules and completes the appropriate forms for laboratory tests, x-rays, special tests and procedures.
  • Prepares patients for procedures as needed.
  • Assists clinicians in diagnostic and surgical procedures and exams.
  • Performs tests, injections and other procedures as appropriate.
  • Monitors patient lab reports: appropriate follow-up for patients during clinician absence. Checks with other clinicians regarding immediate action if needed.


  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Knowledge of medical charting processes and procedures required. Prior experience with or the ability to learn electronic medical records software required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively work with others.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9, CPT and HCPCS coding.
  • Knowledge of medications compatible with pregnancy and maternal and fetal complications.
  • Knowledge of labor and delivery.
  • Prefer at least 2 year's experience in an OB/GYN or Perinatal office or 3 years labor and delivery experience.
  • Knowledge of proper business writing standards for letters and memos.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
