We are seeking a PMHNP with an interest in collaborative, team-oriented patient care who desires to play an integral role in evolving our mental health program at WHA. This position will be located at our Oregon City office. The PMHNP will support our clinician teams by focusing on providing mental health support to our patients for prenatal, post-partum and/or gynecologic care.

WHA is a clinician-owned group practice and the largest women's healthcare organization in Oregon. From its 13 clinical locations, WHA offers obstetrics, gynecology, perinatology, midwifery and genetics.



  • Primarily functions as a member of the clinical team to provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation, crisis intervention, psychotherapy, prescription of psychotropic medications, staff consultation, and other services as needed.
  • Provides appropriate mental health related care for diagnosed or anticipated conditions for WHA patients including pre-menopausal and menopausal concerns, post-partum concerns, anticipated post-partum problems, concerns related to sexuality, suspected fetal anomalies and similar outpatient, short to medium term acute conditions.
  • Provides enhanced access to and quality of appropriate mental healthcare through a team-based approach to patient care.


  • Masters of Science in nursing and successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner from an approved psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program is required.
  • Experience in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and treatment required.
  • Current Oregon RN license required.
  • Current Oregon state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with prescriptive authority (NP-PP). Current DEA certificate or DEA certificate eligible and certificate received prior to starting work at WHA.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and CPR certification required.
  • Professional nursing experience in a clinic setting required, with previous psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner experience in women's health preferred.
  • Meets all criteria required for psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners to participate, if permitted, in health plans and government health programs designated by WHA.
  • Skill in case management, time management, problem solving, crisis intervention, and multitasking in a team care approach.
  • Insurable by malpractice carrier for WHA in minimum amounts required by WHA.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook).
  • Skill in oral and written communication including interviewing to gather medical histories, providing consultations, facilitation and documentation, e.g. writing medical orders, patient education materials, and medical record updates.
  • Skill in using computerized health information management systems preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
