The Imaging Navigator will navigate the patient flow out of the Ultrasound, Mammography, and Bone Densitometry departments and into the next phase of the patient's appointment, while eliminating waiting time gaps.

*This is a Monday-Friday, 40 hr/week position at our Northwest Perinatal Office in SW Portland.  


  • Proactively monitors patient appointments and communicates with patients and staff accordingly.
  • Communicates any instructions needed for ultrasound, mammography and bone densitometry patients.
  • Works within the practice management system to evaluate patient volume tracking for monitoring and adjusting ultrasound, mammography and bone densitometry patient flow and scheduling patients.
  • Performs the following functions within the EMR and report management system; accesses patient mammography report, reviews Gail score, documents mammography results, builds recalls, performs soft sign, routes mammography report to clinician's desktop. Notifies patient of additional imaging needs and provides them with information on scheduling follow-up appointment with specialist.
  • Answers telephone calls concerning general questions on mammography and bone densitometry, scheduling patients, requests for images, etc.


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a medical office required, preferably in an OB/GYN setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Knowledge of keyboarding, data entry and basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to sort and file materials alphabetically and numerically.
