We are seeking a Physician Assistant with an interest in collaborative, team-oriented patient care to assist with our urogynecology clinic and surgeries. From its 15 clinical locations, WHA offers obstetrics, gynecology, perinatology, midwifery and genetics.

*This is a full-time, 40hrs/wk position.


  • Provides medical care, consultation, collaboration, coordination, and referral. Assesses and documents patients' status and needs through patient interviews and chart reviews. Prioritizes and counsels accordingly. Performs appropriate physical examination. Seeks other information as needed, including consultation with physicians and other clinicians for evaluation of illness.
  • Order, performs and signs off appropriate laboratory diagnostic and other screening tests and consultations.
  • Performs or assists in surgeries and procedures according to scope of licensure.
  • Differentiates between normal findings and those that require treatment.
  • Formulates and documents patient's health care plans incorporating the participation of the patient, physician, and other health care professionals.
  • Communicates appropriate case management information to other healthcare professionals, clinician team and community agencies. Collaborates with physicians and/or nurse midwives in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients. Provides monitoring and continuity of care between visits according to treatment plan including triaging patient calls.
  • Promotes wellness philosophy by encouraging self-care and prevention of illness using education, counseling and written materials.
  • Completes timely clinical and patient documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) according to WHA guidelines.
  • Continuously identifies opportunities to meet and/or exceed patient needs and expectations.
  • Remains up-to-date and follows appropriate coding and documentation standards.
  • Completes 7 hours of patient appointment time in an 8 hour clinic day, or 8.75 hours of patient appointment time in a 10 hour clinic day.


  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Current unrestricted Oregon PA required.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and CPR certification required.
  • Skills in case management, time management, problem solving, crisis intervention and multitasking in a team care approach.
  • Insurable by malpractice carrier for WHA in minimum amounts required by WHA.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook).
  • Skills in oral and written communication including interviewing to gather medical histories, providing consultations, facilitation and documentation, e.g. writing medical orders, patient education materials and medical record updates.
  • Meets all criteria required for physician assistants to participate, if permitted, in health plans and government health programs designated by WHA.
  • Skills in using computerized health information management systems preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
  • Ability to demonstrate The Values and Patient Experience of WHA.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
